Kathy Kennedy
Kathy Kennedy, with her Lifetime Achievement Award
(1942 - 2009)

Memoriam to Kathy K. Kennedy

In sincere appreciation for her unwavering dedication, advocacy on behalf of public libraries, and her overall commitment to excellence, Kathy Kennedy received the Lifetime Achievement Award from PCBL in the Fall of 2008. For further information about the Award, please consult the PCBL website. Sadly, Kathy Kennedy passed away on May 25, 2009.

President Phil Albright had this to say:

As I look back on my years with PCBL, Kathy Kennedy always comes to mind. Her skills as a librarian, administrator, manager, and Board member of PCBL were impeccable. However, what I remember most is Kathy as a person.

I want to share some of the words others have used to describe Kathy's attributes: always smiling, great attitude, lovely, vibrant, always ready to do whatever it took to get the job done, energetic, knowledgeable, always a lady to mention just a few.

The library world has lost one of its best and those of us who had the good fortune to work closely with her have lost a true friend.

Our thoughts and prayers are with her family.
